Why participate? 

There are several benefits to participating in the Libraries Student Advisory Group including: 

  • influence the shape and future direction of Library services and spaces important to you and your peers;  

  • gain resume-worthy leadership experience and skills such as outreach, event planning, communication skills, and assessment; and  

  • learn about library resources and services that will enhance your academic performance 

Active LSAG members will also be eligible for: 

  • extended group study room hours for the Downtown Campus Library  

  • iServe (Community Service) Hours 

Who is eligible to apply? 

Membership to LSAG is an application-based process.  Applications are closed for the current academic year. Applications for the 2023 - 24 academic year will open on March 1, 2023. All interested students may apply at that time. Thank you for your interest.

How do I apply? How will my application be evaluated? 

Applications are evaluated based on the following criteria: 

  • Student academic program/major and expected graduation date. The goal is to have a diverse set of academic programs and graduating classes represented in the group. 

  • Responses to several short-answer questions*. Please review the questions and rubric before opening the application.

Apply to the Libraries Student Advisory Group

Terms of Membership 

Terms are for one academic year (Fall through Spring) and are renewable twice (students can be on LSAG for up to three years). 

Members are expected to participate in four meetings per Academic Year as well as at least one library assessment or outreach activity.  The total hourly commitment for LSAG is approximately 10 hours for the academic year.  

Members will receive a survey in early Fall 2022 to identify their availability. This will help us identify the best dates and times for the majority of the group.  

Meetings will be held in October, November, January, and March. Academic Year 2022 – 23 meeting dates and times will be announced by September 1, 2022.
