From taking classes online and studying outside of Morgantown to conducting research and providing instruction from another location, WVU Libraries connects you with the resources and expertise you’ll need—no matter your location.
Online and distance users have access to WVU Libraries’ electronic collections, research assistance, Interlibrary Loan, and other expert services. Eligible distance users can also have physical materials shipped directly to them.

Get Research Help
You do not need to be on campus to work with a librarian.
WVU librarians can help you develop a research topic, identify appropriate databases, find and evaluate sources, track down difficult-to-find materials, and use library resources effectively.

Can't Find What You Need? Request It.
If an article, book chapter, book, or other research material is not available through WVU Libraries, use Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad) to request it.
Articles and book chapters are generally delivered electronically through your ILLiad account. Books and other physical materials may be borrowed from WVU or requested from another library.

Have Library Materials Shipped to You
Eligible distance students, faculty, and staff can have circulating books and other physical materials mailed to their home address at no charge.
To use delivery services, register or update your ILLiad account and select Distance Education Services as your delivery location. Postage-paid return mailing labels are provided for materials shipped through WVU Libraries.
Distance delivery is available to eligible WVU students, faculty, and staff who are participating in online or remote courses and reside more than 25 miles from Morgantown. Additional eligibility applies to some Extension employees, students on rural rotations,and remote WVU employees. Shipping is available within the United States only.
