About the Course:
This is an online eCampus course. The class does not meet in person. This course runs the full summer term, but you may arrange to complete it early.
About the class:
- Watch and analyze films
- Learn advanced film vocabulary and criticism
- Learn to use film databases
- Become an informed media consumer
Requirements:
- watch four films a week during week 4 - 10
- take a short quiz for each film
- will have a study guide for each quiz so you know what it covers
- will do written assignments that you post to a small discussion group
- will evaluate your classmates' reflections and receive evaluations of your work
- will do database assignments where you research film information on topics you choose
- will be responsible for the online readings that accompany the films
- will identify a genre outside the ones in class you enjoy, then select films and write about themes in the genre
- There will be online "lectures" for each of the genres you will study in eCampus learning modules
- There will be a brief online quiz for almost every learning module
