Increase the reach and longevity of your research with expert support for publishing, open access, copyright, and long-term preservation.
Publish via open access
The Libraries provides support for open access publishing and will help you identify the best way to make your work available worldwide, from determining where to publish your research to how to amplify it.
You can:
- Submit your scholarship to the database of openly available research from WVU’s academic community—The Research Repository @ WVU.
- Take advantage of the Libraries’ transformative agreement deals, which subsidize the cost of open access publishing to help WVU faculty publish their work openly by significantly reducing, or fully covering, article processing charges (APCs) for authors.
- Find open access publishers that make your work freely available by default.
- Explore open access journals with reduced publishing fees, negotiated by the Libraries on your behalf.
- Search the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) to find trusted open access journals—many of which do not charge publishing fees.
Not sure where to start?
- Request support with finding and evaluating reputable journals that fit your research, or with avoiding predatory journals.
- Consult open access experts about publisher agreements and developing strategies to support open access publishing.
