How do I renew ILL materials?
Renewing ILL materials
- Log into your ILLiad account with your WVU username and password.
- Any loans currently checked out to you will be listed on the landing page under "Checked Out Items" after you log in.
- To renew a specific item, you may either
- Click on the "Renew" button to the right of the title OR
- Click on the title of the item
- Click on "Renew" at the top of the next screen.
- NOTE:
- If the "Renew" buttton is greyed-out, it means either:
- It is too soon to request a renewal - try again closer to the due date OR
- The lending library does not allow renewals on that item
- When a user renews an ILL item, it is considered a request for renewal and the system will fill in an approximate due date. ILL staff cannot renew ILL materials until the Lending Library has responded to the renewal request. They may allow the item to be renewed or they may refuse to renew it.
- Check back after a few days to see if the book has been officially renewed and what the actual due date is.
What is my ILLiad username and password?
Use your WVU username and password to access ILLiad.
I don’t understand what the ILLiad status on my request means. What are the different statuses?
- Awaiting Request Processing: The patron placed an interlibrary loan request and it is awaiting processing by staff.
- Request Sent: Library staff are checking with interlibrary loan partner libraries about borrowing the item
- Sent to ReShare: Library staff are checking EZBorrow partner libraries about borrowing the item
- Awaiting User Verification: Library staff have sent an email to the person who requested the item and are waiting for a response
- Extensive Searching: The request is particularly difficult and it may take extra time to locate a library who will supply
- Customer Notified via E-Mail: The requested item has been received and is waiting for the patron to pick it up
- Checked Out to Customer: The patron has picked up the item they requested
- Delivered to Web: The article request was processed and delivered to the patrons's ILLiad account for download
- Request Finished: The request has been completed. If an article, it has been 30 days and it is no longer available on ILLiad. If a loan, it has been processed as returned.
- Cancelled by ILL Staff: The request cannot fulfilled for a variety of reasons; the most common are other libraries cannot share or the user has requested it be cancelled
